Call for applications for the NGO LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP

NGO LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP

17 – 21 October 2022 | Warsaw, Poland

Since the 24th of February, the start date of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian NGOs, as well as NGOs from countries neighboring with Ukraine, are receiving internal (IDPs) and external refugees from territories, which are under warfare.

The 2022 NGO Leadership Workshop is dedicated to these NGOs and is designed to allow them to strengthen their leaders in multiple ways. If you are a leader of an NGO working with refugees from Ukraine, and want to take part in this event, apply for the NGO Leadership Workshop and join us!

The objective of the Workshop is to empower selected civil society representatives working with refugees from Ukraine to strengthen their capacities in resilience building, avoiding burnout, strategic planning in crisis, digital security, and working with people with PTSD. The Workshop will also take representatives of NGOs from Ukraine, who work with IDPs. In addition, the Workshop will be an opportunity to network and share good practices.

Workshop Program:

• Pre-workshop welcome reception on 17th October. Special guest welcome by Geneviève Zubrzycki, Director of the Weiser Center.
• Day 1, 18th October: Networking and sharing good country practices
• Day 2, 19th October: Digital security by Wojciech Bogusz from the Front Line Defenders
• Day 3, 20th October: Resilience/avoiding burnout/strategic planning in crisis/working with people with PTSD* by Professor Eric Fretz from the University of Michigan
• Day 4, 21st October: Resilience/avoiding burnout/strategic planning in crisis/working with people with PTSD by Professor Eric Fretz from the University of Michigan

*Participants will learn about resilience and avoiding burnout, strategies around self-care, interpersonal skills along with some effective tips to be successful. The topic of „working with people with PTSD” will, in a similar fashion, expose participants to a baseline of terms and definitions then talking about practical “non-clinician” ways to think about the issue, how to be helpful/non-hurtful, as well as having access to a lot of resources and tools.
